Bezalel Academy Branding

A panoramic knitted work exploring environmental disasters, technological progress, and human migration through symbolic visual narratives. The project was created within the Visual Communication Department at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, in close and joyful collaboration with professional textile practitioners.

{ The Knit }

The project is a ▸ panoramic knitted piece divided into eight scenes. Each scene portrays ▸ environmental and ▸ social crisis that occurred at different points in time across the globe - from nuclear bombings in the Marshall Islands, to glacial melting in Canada, massive wildfires in Australia, and mythological flood narratives.

Through shapes and symbols, the work explores the complex relationship between ▸ technological progress, ▸ climate change, and ▸ human migration, offering a critical perspective on humanity’s place within these forces. In contrast to accelerated, industrialized, and often violent realities, the project returns to traditional textile techniques as a form of resistance. Like many historical textile structures, the knit is built as a mirrored grid - not merely decorative or functional, but carrying representations of cultural and historical narratives.

{ The Book }
Alongside the knit, the project features the ▸ Atlas of Uninhabitable Lands, which focuses on areas rendered uninhabitable due to environmental disasters and wars. The atlas offers viewers a deeper look into the ecological and social fractures at the heart of the work.
